About

I have been practicing clinical psychology for over 25 years and have been practicing in Canada since 2010.  I am a licensed Psychologist in British Columbia. I obtained my doctoral degree at University of Birmingham, UK, in 1997 and completed my post-doctoral training at University of California – Los Angeles as a Fulbright scholar in 2005. In addition to clinical practice, I have taught almost all areas of psychology in universities, and have been extensively involved in publishing research articles in renowned scientific journals.

Target Problems:

I offer psychological services for anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, chronic pain, driving fears/phobias, interpersonal relationship issues, identity and self-esteem issues, mid-life crisis problems, and stress and adjustment related problems. I offer both individual and couples/marital therapy.

Assessment:

Diagnostic assessment; Assessment of developmental disabilities including ADHD, intellectual deficiency and learning disability. I provide assessment and treatment services to adolescent and adult clients who may have a variety of mental health problems.

Treatment Approach:

I am trained in various psychological treatment approaches including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma focused cognitive therapy, cognitive processing behavior therapy, and strength based psychological interventions. My treatment involves preparing customized treatment plan based on evidence based psychological interventions to suite the individual clients.

Languages

In addition to English, I am well versed in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. My education, training and experience has provided me expertise to work with diverse cultural populations.
